NOVEMBER VIRTUAL CHAPTER MEETING

Wednesday, November 18, 2020 | 4:00PM - 6:00PM

4:00PM - 5:00PM

Topic

Building a Stronger Financial Management Process

Speaker

CFO Consulting

A strong finance team is critical to the success of any company. Sometimes, however, financial results are late, incorrect, or not issued at all due to problems in finance processes. For a smaller business, with just a few accounting and finance resources, staff turnover can instantly highlight any process weakness. We’ll look at how to stay ahead of finance process issues and prevent these challenges from becoming more significant problems. We’ll address these challenges from three different perspectives: Producing Data, Consuming Data, and Preparing for and Managing the Audit.

5:00PM - 6:00PM

Topic

Strategic Decisions To Focus On Going Into 2021

Speaker

Marty Mosby
Director of Bank Advisory & Strategic Services
Vining Sparks

2020 has been an extraordinary year creating ripple effects throughout our lives and the economy. Normal business activities have been disrupted and we have spent most of this year focusing on taking care of our customers, employees, and families. While we have had our heads down pushing through the onslaught of issues, the operating environment for U.S. community banks has been shifting. Strategically, many decisions have been delayed; however, as time elapses it is becoming more critical to assess your bank’s position in relation to this new paradigm. This session will focus on what impact has the Covid-19 outbreak had on community bank valuations and merger/acquisition activity; Positioning to survive the ongoing effects of the recent economic disruption; Temporarily leveraging capital to offset upcoming earnings pressures
