CHARITY CASINO NIGHT
Event Provides Valuable Support for Lupus Foundation and HomeSharing

The New York/New Jersey Chapter of the Financial Managers Society held a Charity Casino Night at the Brownstone in Paterson, NJ on March 21, 2019. Funds were raised at the event to benefit the Lupus Foundation of America and HomeSharing, Inc. The event proved to be a very successful complement to the initial Charity Casino Night sponsored by the Chapter in March 2018.
Members and guests participated in Las Vegas style casino games including poker, blackjack, roulette and more. Players were able to exchange their winning chips to earn popular merchandise items presented at the end of the evening. The prizes were donated through the generosity of the event’s numerous sponsors. The prizes ranged in value from $50 to $400, including a shore resort weekend, wine, electronics, appliances and a wide variety of personal items. Attendees also enjoyed a full course buffet dinner along with their favorite beverage throughout the evening at the full-service open bar.
Although Members went home with valuable prizes, the Lupus Foundation and HomeSharing are the true winners. The funds raised through this event will provide research to end the “cruel mystery” of Lupus as well as aiding those who are seeking safe and affordable housing.
Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that results in a significant reduction in quality of life. The disease can damage skin, joints, organs and cause inflammation, pain and severe discomfort to various areas of the body. The daughter of Past Chapter President Grace Cruz-Beyer is one of more than 1.5 million Americans who is afflicted with Lupus.
HomeSharing, Inc. helps individuals who need additional income or assistance in order to maintain and remain in their homes or apartments and individuals searching for safe and affordable housing in the central New Jersey area. Past Chapter President Andriette Mathews is the President of HomeSharing, Inc.

Casino Games I
Members enjoyed a wide range of casino games, including roulette, blackjack and poker. The Brownstone served a fabulous buffet dinner while members were treated to their favorite beverage at the open bar that lasted throughout the evening.
Casino Games II
High stakes poker, blackjack and roulette provided members with an exciting evening of challenging casino games. Win or lose everyone went home with a big smile!
Casino Games III
Counting chips was the financial management challenge of the evening. Everyone enjoyed a fun evening and earned valuable prizes. Winning was never a gamble!
