2021-2022 Chapter Officers Installed
Belated Gala Installation Dinner Held on October 14, 2021

The traditional ceremonial event to install the incoming slate of Chapter Officers for the 2021-2022 fiscal year was held at The Grove in Cedar Grove, N.J. on Thursday October 14, 2021. The installation of Officers normally is celebrated in May but was significantly delayed from safety concerns due to the pandemic. The installation of the 2020-2021 Officer slate was held online in a virtual format. Although the attendance was limited, the return to a live setting was certainly welcomed by all.

The formal program was preceded by a superb cocktail reception featuring a superb selection of fine appetizers and an open bar allowing Members to mingle in a social environment with colleagues and guests for the first time in seemingly countless months. Attendees enjoyed a splendid full-course dinner followed by dessert and coffee with open bar throughout.
​
Incumbent Chapter President Amy Wheatley welcomed everyone to the event and thanked the Chapter’s Members and sponsors for their valuable support. Following the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance, Past Chapter President Maureen Kalena provided the traditional invocation offering thanks for the Chapter’s success during the pandemic.

Amy welcomed Chapter Past President Fred Viaud to the podium to perform the formal installation of Chapter Officers. Fred thanked the Chapter for the opportunity to preside at this year’s installation and then announced the following slate of Officers for the 2021-2022 fiscal year:

Photo highlights from the 2021 Installation Dinner!
Fred asked the Chapter’s incoming Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary to stand, raise their right hand and recite the oath of office as he installed the Officers for the upcoming year.
Amy Wheatley returned to the podium to offer her final address as outgoing Chapter President. Amy summarized the goals the Chapter has set out to achieve despite the effects of the pandemic that prevented holding live meetings. She noted the importance that the Chapter’s charitable and social events have made in addition to the traditional learning experience. Amy gave sincere thanks to her fellow Officers, the Membership, sponsors, and her family for making her challenging term as President successful.

Fred Viaud then welcomed Suny Mellawa to stand and formally installed her as Chapter President. Members and guests offered the Chapter’s new leadership team warm applause and congratulations.
​
Newly installed President Suny Mellawa then provided her initial address to the Membership. Suny gave particular thanks to those that were most responsible for making this achievement possible with particular attention to her fellow Officers and those she has worked with during her tenure with FMS.
